Who am I?
My name is B.J. Guest. I have been playing a mixture of Pathfinder and Dungeons & Dragons 5e starting in 2017. I have DM'ed for one on-going 5e game online and a handful of one-shots with mostly new players. I am also a player for a face-to-face Pathfinder game where I play Gar Rhane, a human druid with a young roc as his animal companion. I am married to my wonderful wife Megan and father to my son Miles and daughter Ruth.
Purpose of Bardic Inspiration
My purpose for starting the Bardic Inspiration blog is to give inspiration (hence the clever title) to new and old players of this wonderful game as well as create a space where I can express my love for all aspects of D&D.
Blog Series
As of now I have two series of blog posts that will be updated weekly.
The first series, Monster Manual Monday, is where I will randomly choose a letter of the alphabet and then choose one monster from the list of monsters that begin that letter and discuss how that monster could be used in your D&D campaign. In Monster Manual Monday (MMM), I will go over optional plot hooks that can connect your story campaign with these monsters, possible back story or motivations for the random monsters, and how you can use that monster strategically in battle.
The second series, Table Talk Thursdays (as you can tell I love alliteration), I will dive into those tough moments at the table where someone at the table is being a little hard to deal with. Table Talk Thursday will attempt to alleviate pains such as: a dungeon master that is constantly trying to kill the player characters, a player who isn't participating in the role play of the game, and players who are difficult to play with for various reasons.
Please leave a comment or a suggestion of D&D topics to discuss for future posts!
